This sweater has been hand knit and custom designed for Stephen A. Gross. In listening to Stephen’s interests and what he has a passion for in life, I found him to love the outdoors and working to conserve and keep the woods as healthy as possible. I was inspired to choose the pine tree used in the center of the front and back. The circle under it in the front represents renewing and continuing. The pattern under that which runs along the whole base of the decorative stitches represents waves of water, from which all life thrives. The wave-like pattern also symbolizes the ups and downs that life’s path has carried Stephen. Happiness (or St. John’s cross) pattern on the center of the back under the tree, or on each cuff of the sleeve that one can find in these ups and downs. The cables on each side of the pine trees I liken unto a strong rope which binds us and keeps us hopefully simply the humble people we were made to be. I have been so pleased to make this life time treasure, I hope it wears well, and the sheep fibers snuggle you each time you put it on!
Happy Trails to you,
